FT&S Team Support RNLI Day at Kyle of Lochalsh

Ferguson Transport & Shipping were proud to once again support the Scottish Six Days Trial, which took place across Lochaber.
The event is widely recognised as one of the most challenging and prestigious trials in the motorsport calendar, attracting riders and teams from across the UK and beyond. Set against the unique backdrop of the Highlands, it showcases both exceptional skill and the demanding terrain that makes this event so iconic.
The Scottish Six Days Trial also brought a fantastic atmosphere to the local area, highlighting Lochaber as a destination for world-class sporting events and bringing communities together in support of the competition.
We are delighted to continue our involvement in this long-standing event and would like to congratulate all competitors, teams, and organisers on another successful trial.
Recently, members of our team attended the North of Scotland ZE HDV Infrastructure Development Workshop in Fort William.
The workshop focused on the challenges and opportunities associated with operating zero-emission heavy-duty vehicles (HDVs) across the Highlands. It provided a highly informative session and a valuable opportunity to engage directly with Highland Council and other key stakeholders involved in future infrastructure planning.
As a business, we remain committed to exploring opportunities to reduce emissions across our operations. Events such as this are an important part of understanding the evolving landscape and gathering insight to support our long-term sustainability goals.
At Ferguson Transport & Shipping, we are proud to recognise and celebrate the women across our business whose dedication, professionalism and hard work play an important role in our continued success.
International Women’s Day provides an opportunity to acknowledge the achievements, contributions and positive impact of women within our company, our industry and communities around the world.
We would like to thank all of the women across Ferguson Transport & Shipping for everything they do each day.

Alasdair Ferguson, Group Managing Director commented, “We are so very pleased and proud to continue with the great relationship we have built up over many years with the Camanachd Association and the shinty community, to once again sponsor the Balliemore Cup this year. The last number of years have been very competitive, and this year we feel will be no different with the likes of Beauly, Lovat, Kilmallie, Bute and GMA to name only a number of the teams, all in the cup draw, to compete for the National trophy. This year will be no exception; it will be another strongly contested cup competition. Ferguson Transport & Shipping provide logistics nationally, throughout the UK. We relocated to the village of Spean Bridge from Ardrishaig in Argyll in 1974, where our business has grown considerably since then and it is where the final will be played on Saturday 25 July. We look forward to the draw, and no doubt we will be in for another exciting day of Shinty when the cup final comes round and one not to be missed! From all the directors and employees, we wish all the teams and players taking part the very best of luck and hope that our national sport, shinty, continues to shine through.”
Burton Morrison, President of the Camanachd Association said: “With the new season close at hand, the Balliemore Cup once again commands attention as clubs look ahead to the draw and the challenges it will bring. Last year saw Lochaber make history by lifting the trophy for a sixth time, though their promotion now takes them out of this season’s competition. That opens the door to fresh opportunity and renewed ambition across the field, with strong contenders emerging from all corners of the shinty map. The continued growth and standing of the Balliemore Cup owes much to the long-standing backing of Ferguson Transport and Shipping, whose support remains deeply valued.”

We were delighted to sponsor the Cairngorm reindeer again for 2025, as part of Lochaber Rotary’s Christmas Festival, which is held annually in Fort William.
As part of our sponsorship, two members of our team, Elaine Alexander and Molly Johnstone, dedicated their time to reviewing entries and selecting this year’s winners for the Rotary Santa’s elves competition. All artwork was displayed in the Nevis Centre during the Christmas Festival.
The overall prize gave two lucky children the chance to join Santa on his sleigh, pulled by the Cairngorm Reindeer, travelling from Cameron Square to the Nevis Centre. It was a great example of how we continue to support our community.
