Port & Marine Team Work Alongside Fugro in Recent Project
Back in October, our port & marine service team at Kishorn Port worked alongside Fugro on one of their recent projects, delivering full support across port, marine, and quayside operations. The project involved receiving and number of lorry loads of sectional jack-up-barge pontoon sections and equipment, deploying a 100-tonne and a 650-tonne mobile crane, and assembling the ARAN 250 jack-up rig on our quayside at Area 7.
The client brought in the the components, which we offloaded with our own 100-tonne mobile crane into our laydown area before re-loading and transporting everything to the quayside where a 650-tonne crane, supplied by Ainscough Crane Hire mobile cranes, was used to build the ARAN 250 alongside Area 7 quayside. Eight Fugro personnel stayed on site throughout, based in our on-site welfare facilities.
We worked closely with the client to ensure that we provided the port and marine services to suit the projects needs. During the project, we also supported the launch of their crew transfer vessel and assisted their tug operations, including the multicat work boat C-Force, owned by Leask Marine Ltd.
Overall, it was an extremely successful job with a great team, strong collaboration, and a shared commitment to safety from start to finish.
Wishing Fugro all the best with their project and for entrusting the port and marine services of Ferguson Transport and Kishorn Port, to support their mobilisation.

Ferguson Transport & Shipping are proud to sponsor the U14 and U17 North Inter-Area tournaments again for 2025.
Organised by the Camanachd Association, and hosted by Lochaber Camanachd Club, our team thoroughly enjoyed watching the matches, and very promising to see all of the talented shinty players coming up through school level. A huge well done to all the players, teams and coaches who took part in both competitions. Congratulations to Badenoch who won the U17 shield, and to Inverness on winning the U14 shield.
Attending Truckfest Scotland
Our team had a great time at TRUCKFEST Scotland over the weekend, showcasing 6 of our Volvo FH 500’s, the oldest truck in our fleet, our 1986 Volvo F12 ‘Timber Jack’, and one of our brand new trucks on display at the Volvo Trucks stand.
A big thank you to our team organising another great trip to Ingliston, and to our drivers for having their trucks show ready.

Balliemore Cup Final Hospitality Day 2025

Proud supporters of our local primary school fun nights
Ferguson Transport & Shipping enjoyed once again attending the Fun Nights hosted by Bun-Sgoil Ghàidhlig Loch Abar, Banavie, and Spean Bridge Primary School this year.
We had the pleasure of placing one of our Volvo FH trucks at the events, giving families the opportunity to explore. It was wonderful to see the community spirit at the events and support children and parents to discover more about our trucks. We hope this experience has sparked an interest in the next generation and inspired some future HGV drivers!

Supporting the Scottish Six Days Trial 2025
Our transport team once again did a fantastic job supporting the event organisers and the setup of the Scottish Six Days Trial, a renowned motorcycle event held annually in our local Lochaber area.
Ferguson Transport & Shipping are committed to supporting community events which celebrate local heritage, attract international visitors, and provide a boost to the local economy, and we are delighted to continue our support of the Scottish Six Days Trial.
Well done to the winners, and congratulations to all the riders and teams who took part.

MV Carly Delivers 70 Tonne Liebherr LH60 to Isle of Mull
MV Carly, one of our versatile landing craft vessels, recently completed a successful operation delivering a 70-tonne Liebherr LH60 from Corpach to the Isle of Mull.
The move was necessary due to ferry transportation being unfeasible. Thanks to the unique capabilities of MV Carly and the expertise of our crew and marine team, the heavy-duty equipment was safely delivered to its destination.
This operation highlights the important role our landing craft play in servicing remote and island locations, where conventional transport methods are unsuitable.
A big thank you to everyone involved for their hard work in ensuring another complex job was completed to the highest standards! Another Job well done!
