Trainee Port & Warehouse Operative
Ferguson Transport & Shipping have a new career opportunity for a Trainee Port & Warehouse Operative, based at Kishorn Port.
The successful applicant will work alongside our experience and qualified team, to ensure the smooth day to day operations of a busy port.
In addition to initial internal training to gain hands on experience, formal qualifications in Port Operations will be obtained as part of the this role.
Applicants must show a willingness to learn, be a good team player and demonstrate a strong commitment to health and safety, including the ability to follow instructions carefully and work in accordance with established procedures.
Duties will include:
- Assisting with and learning how to operate forklifts
- Assisting to safely moor and unmoor vessels
- Assisting with the preparation of trailers or lay down areas
- Ensuring all required paperwork is completed as necessary
A driving licence will be required for this role, therefore applicants should have their car licence or be working towards achieving this.
Due to H&S regulations working on a port, the minimum age for applications is 17.
