Alasdair Ferguson wins Regional Director of the Year Award

A huge congratulations to our Managing Director Alasdair Ferguson, who last night won the Highlands and Islands Enterprise Regional Director of the Year at the Institute of Directors Scotland Director of the Year Awards 2017.

Alasdair works tirelessly as Group Managing Director of Ferguson Transport & Shipping and Director of Kishorn Port Ltd. 2016 saw the company break the 200 employee mark, as well as the purchase of the 18 acre BSW Sawmill site in Corpach, and the purchase of fellow transport company Barclay Bros Ltd from Fife. Kishorn Port Ltd is undergoing comprehensive testing and refurbishment of the Dry Dock at present.

The IoD Scotland awards celebrate business successes in the previous year, through robust business leadership and strong role models in the boardroom. IoD Scotland said regarding the Directors nominated for awards: “Their vision, creativity and sheer hard work led their organisation to success in 2016.”

David Watt, Executive Director of IoD Scotland, commented: “This year we have once again been shown exceptional business success across the board – whether this has been achieved by leading success in turnover growth, taking an organisation from local to global, innovating and creating world class products, excelling in customer service or creating opportunities and having a positive impact on communities – this year’s crop of directors is living proof that Scotland is in an excellent position to compete on the global stage.”
